Zoom Cloud Recordings in Panopto, Access and Move

Learn how to access your Zoom cloud recordings in Panopto

Access Your Zoom Cloud Recordings in Panopto

By default your Zoom cloud recordings are automatically being copied over into Panopto so that there will always be a backup of your recordings that exist once your Zoom cloud recordings are deleted out of the Zoom cloud after 130 days. If you have a Panopto account that already exists, your Zoom cloud recordings are being copied into a folder called "Meeting Recordings" that exists within your personal "My Folder".

Finding your "Meeting Recordings" folder

Once you have recorded a Zoom meeting to the cloud do the following to find those recordings within Panopto. The recordings won't appear immediately after your Zoom meeting is finished. Zoom has to do some processing to the recordings before they are ready to be viewed and accessed. Be patient, eventually they will be available within Panopto.

  1. Login to Panopto.
  1. If you use Panopto through D2L, please access Panopto via one of your D2L courses by clicking on the UA Tools link in your course navbar and select Panopto
  2. If you use Panopto outside of D2L, please access Panopto via https://arizona.hosted.panopto.com/
  1. In the Sign In drop-down box make sure UA NetID is chosen and click Sign In. If prompted, sign in with your UA NetID and password.

Along the left-hand side click "My Folder".

You should then see a subfolder with the name "Meeting Recordings". Click this folder.

You should then see your Zoom cloud recordings within this folder.

Note: If you don't see a Meeting Recordings folder but you know you have in the past recorded Zoom meetings to the cloud, then it could be that your Panopto account didn't exist yet and your meetings were stored in a separate location. In this case contact the Academic Technologies team at acadtech@arizona.edu for help locating past Zoom cloud recordings. We will be able to find where your recordings were stored and give you access to them.

Learn how to move sessions to another course Panopto folder.

Each D2L course site has its own folder within Panopto created by default. The Panopto content you create in one course does not automatically get copied to the Panopto folder for a new course, even if it is the same course. However, you can move and copy individual sessions (videos) from one folder to another by hovering over each session in the list of sessions and selecting the session. Once the session is selected, the options to Delete, Copy, Move and Share will appear.

By selecting "Move", you will get the option to move the session to another folder. You will need to choose which course folder you want to move the selected video(s) to. Moving the session will move the session to another folder, but will not preserve the original session location. It will no longer be in the original folder that it was previously in.

Selecting "Copy" will allow you to Copy the session to another folder. You will then need to choose the course folder you want to copy the session to. Copying will move a session to another folder, while preserving the original session location.

You can also bulk move or copy sessions (videos) by selecting them all by clicking the box at the top of the list of sessions. It will select ALL videos that are listed in the results on that screen. You may need to increase the viewing options for results by page to get ALL videos within a folder if you have over 25 videos within that folder. The default view is to show the first 25 videos within a folder. Say your folder has 31 videos in it. Doing a bulk select would only select the 25 videos that are appearing on this results screen. If you change the results per page to view 50 videos per page then all of the videos in your folder would then appear in the list. You could then do a bulk select to move or copy all of your videos at once.
